Wifi impossible restart

I purchased this product and the wifi quit connectivity quit working. I completed the restart as explained in the directions. I called customer service but was unable to get through so I'm no longer able to connect to the product with the APP. The APP doesn't work as advertised with the product once it gets disconnected

The 2.0 app that came out last year nullified anything ™smart™ about this machine. 1.0 worked just fine. Now I can™™t change the schedule that is programmed from months ago. Daylight savings made this worse. We use the ac while we are sleeping and are wasting about 2 hours of electricity in the mornings because it stays on too long now. I loved this machine before the update. Now I will never buy another Frigidaire product based on the roll out of 2.0 that made this machine ™unsmart™ and low priority it has been to fix the issue.

I moved into a new apartment a few weeks ago and this was the unit that was in the building . It works pretty well except that the connection drops often and the set temperature doesn™™t always work. It seems like when you turn it on it is always on and doesn™™t use the set temperature feature very well. Other than that I do not have any major complaints.

Great heavy unit cools off studio apartment nicely, it's tall. I turn it on when on my way home by using Frigidaire app. Modes "Clean Air" to purify and "Sleep mode" can only be turned on from the app. It also shows air filter status. A bit noisy, but it's like a white background noise, does not interfere with sleep at all. I usually set the temp 2 degrees lower than I'd like as it senses the temp in its immediate vicinity, rather than 6 ft away in the room. The lowest temp setting is 60. Dry mode is great at dehumidifying the room, however you need a separately purchased tube. I've been using just a regular bucket under the dripping knob. The window slider kit comes with 1 extra extend rod, so it extends max to appx 44inches, my window is much longer that I need 2 extra rods. However, customer support does not sell extend rod separately, only as an entire window slider kit for appx $180. We managed to make it work as diy project. Overall it's an expensive but great unit at cooling off. I purchased it in Aug 2020 because the central AC in our building does not work properly, so when it was 100+ degrees outside my apartment remained at 90. With this Frigidaire 12K btu smart portable AC my apt is at a comfortable 74. With this AC I completely forget about the heatwave outside. Remotely control your portable "North Pole."

Nicest Looking Portable Air Conditioner on the Market

I bought this right before a major heat wave because I lived through too many heat waves without AC. This model is the nicest looking one I could find and I like that it has one hose instead of two. I only used it twice, so far, and it wasn't fully set up at the time, as it doesn't come with an extra expander for the window kit and I have an extra large window. Therefore, it was hard to tell how effective it may be as the window wasn't completely sealed in 90 plus degree weather. I have since fixed this issue and hope to do a real test soon. I was concerned that I would put it on Econ setting and when I started it again, it reverted to the cool setting. It says that is should save last setting.

We read a review of this AC in (wirecutter? Consumer reports?) and knew this was the air conditioner for us. It has a very elegant design, an attractive and easy to use window attachment, and it does its job well. It is very quiet - the compressor and the fan are 20% as loud as the unit it replaced. However, the down side of that, is when the coolant passes through the evaporator, the gurgling is REALLY NOTICEABLE. The 50™™s-retro-jetliner design is effective at producing airflow and circulating the air. I was skeptical that it was form over function, but it works well. It weighs twice as much as the unit it replaced. It™™s easy to roll, hard to carry. The handles do not seem suited to the task. The app is horrible. It took days to get it connected to my WiFi. Tons of problems. (why not setup through Bluetooth like everything else? Bluetooth modules are like $5) it was really painful, but after trying on 4 devices, I finally got the secret sauce, and it connected. Since then, it™™s worked fine. Oddly, the app has an option for ™air cleaner™ which isn™™t on the device itself. Not sure what that does, but I hope it™™s not an ozone filter, since I live in CA and if shipped to me without hassle. I won™™t try it out. I™™d recommend this device. It™™s functional and elegant and quiet. The trifecta for portables.

It's a bit larger and louder than I expected, but it definitely keeps my moderately sized bedroom cool. I'm not sure how accurate the thermostat is. The instructions were not clear on how to connect it to the WiFi network (note: Android users, you need to turn off your mobile data when you're doing this), but once I got it set-up, it's easy to control the A/C remotely.

Love the the way the air circulation works. It really helps move the air through the room. The unit is quieter than the other ones we have. We have this in the dining room/ kitchen and another 14000 BTU unit in the living room. Combined they both really keep our 12000 square feet apartment cool!

Non-existent customer/technical service!

After using this unit for 2 days it came up with code P1. We followed the manual instructions and drained the condensate, but could not get the P1 message to go away and the unit no longer cooled. Of course this all occurred in the middle of a heat wave. Emails and calls to Frigidaire went unheeded. After attempting to register on-line and enable the Wi-Fi smart phone feature, we received the message that a code will be emailed and was necessary to complete registration. No code was ever received by us, so even if the unit was functioning we wouldn't be able to use the anion generator feature via wifi. Your customer service appears to be non-existent after our numerous attempts to contact service. We feel very let down by Frigidaire

We purchased the unit to cool a 480 sq ft area in our small cottage, located in the mountains of Southern California.Pros and Cons.Pro: Well built, aesthetically appealing, user friendly remote, quiet, wi-fi capable, moves easily on wood floors, maintains the desired temperature efficiently Cons:The app needs a total re-design (it's has so many bugs that I'm reluctant to operate the unit using the app), weight (may be the result of the quality design/build). I bought this portable AC last year and still haven't been able to connect it to the app, it is so frustrating, their costumer service is kind but not helpful at all, last year happened the same thing, couldn't connect it to the app, called customer service gave me a ton of instructions and at the end was just a waste of time.This app and appliances are not like the other companies, everything is connected in my house through apps except for FRIGIDAIRE it just doesn't work.I was willing to pay them to send a technician to my place to do it for me but they cant even provide that service.I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS BRAND FRIGIDAIRE, I LEARNT MY LESSON.

MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT

I received my AC unit two days ago and was very excited to set it up. After an easy installation the unit was on and was working correctly I couldn™™t of been happier or so I thought...One of the major selling points for this unit was the app connection. After following the instructions to connect this unit to Wi-Fi it does not work. When I hold down the WiFi button it turned the unit off.... interesting right?After coming to terms the fact that I bought this unit for the Wi-Fi capability at least I had cold air. Right? Wrong. I woke up to a huge puddle underneath my unit this morning. All condensation values are closed so where is this water coming from? (Backstory I just dealt with major water damage from my upstairs neighbor and had to get all new wood floors) The last thing I need is a BRAND NEW a/c unit leaking on my new floors and creating water damage. I have tried calling the support line many times but I get hung up on EVERY TIME due to high call volume. I would like for someone to reach out and help me fix these issues. As of now I will make sure that none of my friends or family buy any kind of Frigidaire product solely based on your lackluster customer service and support.

Works fairly quickly. I have it set up in a 21 x 23 foot room with cathedral ceilings. It makes a noticeable difference within minutes. It sounds just like a normal ac unit. I have a 500 sq foot living room space that needed cooling because the wall unit ac compressor died and would be a fortune to replace. This is on wheels and set up was easy. It's like having a Star Wars droid in my living room, but better cosmetically than others I considered. It's doing the job so far - we've had several stretches of 90+ degree weather and its comfortable in the living room, which is what we needed. It's about as loud as the wall unit was - I don't imagine there is such a thing as whisper quiet in a/c unless you have central air. I'll take the slight noise over sweltering heat any day. I have not tried the remote yet because I haven't had time to do more than pull the back cover off to get the remote working. not easy getting that back on for some reason, so gave up until I have more time.

I have two of these devices. Overall, very satisfied with them. They cool very well, easy to move around, install in the window, and the smart features are a nice plus. They aren't as powerful as I would like, and I think they begin to fail to cool in rooms larger than 180 square feet.

I cannot seem to connect it to wifi. It shows Elux_xx:xx as wifi name and doesnt even recognized by the app. It takes hours to cool down 150sq inches room. From 86 degrees down only to 83 after few hours of running. Temperature shows off about 10 degrees. Room temperature is 83 and air conditioner shows 91.

So this AC cost me $550 and i™™m in love with the features they are all super dope...However it™™s primary function to cool down 550SQ was greatly exaggerated..i simply use this to cool down my tiny NYC apartment and it™™s takes several hours to decrease the room temp from 85+° to around 72 which it never gets below that threshold..i™™ve waited two years to write a fair review and i would have to say this was a horrible buy it runs up my electric bill and doesn™™t even cool down one small room..explore other units before buying this it just simply isn™™t worth the money

Lousy AC, great source of fresh water

Product does not effectively evaporate condensate as advertised. Unless you™™re ready to buy a condensate pump or lift this 80lb monstrosity into your tub every day, don™™t buy this AC. I made my purchase 3 years ago to cool my 400 sq ft studio apartment and for the first summer, it worked great. The second summer, it returned the P1 error more and more frequently (this is when the condensate tank is full and requires draining). I only ever used the ™Cool™, ™Fan™ and ™Eco™ modes, which are not supposed to require regular draining. Now, three summers in, it generates 2+ quarts of water per hour on the ™Cool™ mode and returns the P1 error every day. When I contacted customer support, they told me that the product was not broken, no repair was necessary and to simply attach a drainage hose or condensate pump. Slim design and very efficient! I really like this ac. I am not a big fan of window ac, and this one is all I wanted. It looks great in my apt and it works really well. It also connects with the wifi, so you can control it even from a distance.

At the Beginning of summer I purchased this air conditioner unit. The features are extremely beneficial Especially this summer, Leaving work and being able to walk in to cool down living Room it also cools off a lot more then the space that it's advertised to cover so awesome you in it plus a dehumidifier class or air purifier Wi-Fi controlled the power save mode is awesome there's a scheduling feature on the app I mean honestly for the price you can't beat it is portable the set up is pretty easy very basic out of all of the portable AC units ive owned over time this set up was the easiest install in the window literally stick in slide open nd lock in place exhaust setup. I had my mother purchase one and I had a friend purchase 1 for her home and another friend of mine is looking forward to owning one soon. It's 2020It works with Alexa so you can download the Alexa app to your smartphone and have Alexa turn it on with voice commands,Hey Alexa turn on ac, set ac to 60 and other commands. Sweet scheduling feature, time set to automatically turn it on or off. In getting home to a cool first floor when outside is 93, clean air no particles floating around lol. I love this setup. Color white and silver works with my decor as well my walls are grey and white. When i tell you perfect. i usually can't keep it on sixty for too long. It freezes an open floor planned living room, kitchen, and bathroom at least 1000 square feet with just the bathroom being sectioned off. So let's call that 1/4 off , so it cools 750 sqft of space. I took it to my bedroom now. Think I'm gonna have to purchase another one for my living room heh heh, no more hot days. Id say with the layout of this house 1 unit upstairs 1 unit downstairs. The house would be frozen. Lolv%tWorth every penny so far Even though i saw different prices at different places highest being 1200, the lowest @7 nd change and refurbished @ 450... idc what price u got it for. For what u get from Walmart or target, big lots even, the highest price on this portable is worth it. So at 1200 nd 12000 btuand the smart features, to me it's worth it. You get it for anything less grab 2. Now i must exit, this room is getting hot as well, "Alexa turn on the ac" enjoy it folks.

I bought this unit a little over a year now and it hasn't let me down ever. The remote function is very useful, I can cool the house down from work and get home to a breezy 70°. Just regular maintenance and it has been a cool experience.

I love this AC. I live in a studio apt and it cools my place very well. The ONLY reason for the 4 stars is because the filter needs to be cleaned constantly. The light goes off about every 1-2 weeks and I don™™t have a lot of free time so it™™s an inconvenience. Never had this issue with typical window ACs.

Convenience from afar

I love the convenience of being able to see the temperature of my home while being away; whether it be while at work or elsewhere. This way I know my pets will be comfortable and not hot and they don't have to wait for me to come home and I don't have to leave the unit on all day either. With global warming making our area hotter and the majority of the housing in the SF bay area not having air conditioning, this is the perfect unit to control my apartment.

Never worked, never cooled, should have returned

I purchased a couple years ago, and for 3 consecutive summers this has failed to blow cold air out of the unit, even at the lowest 60 degree setting. I have stored it upright and dry, I have drained when it gets the P1 message. I've cleaned the filters to be pristine, there's no blockage. Could never figure out what was wrong with the unit, and to this day there has not been any information online regarding a solution.Biggest waste of money ($550), and impossible to find troubleshooting information on the product, which was likely discontinued because it's an 80 pound monstrosity that doesn't work. I was looking forward to the futuristic look and the smart features, but it doesn't do the one thing it's supposed to do - cool.

Very disappointing this 12,000 btu unit will not keep a 275 SF room below 80 degrees Called Frigidaire for warranty help and they are too busy to even let me hold to schedule for service.

I got this air conditioner thinking I would use it for a larger space. I moved, but it keeps my room very nice and cool. I work nights as a nurse so having the ac w blackout curtains is very helpful for my sleep. Only downfall is that it™™s pretty noisy, it makes kind of a rattle-y sound. I love it though!

Haven't had issues with it. Have it run on cool for half an hour before going to sleep then use my phone to set it to fan only. Compressor doesn't wake me up this way. I'm a light sleeper. Also when setting up the app give the app your location permission or it won't connect to the wifi. I've had mine for a little over a month now. No issues so far. Most days it might take 15-20 minutes to cool down to the temp I want. Summer will probably take longer. This air conditioner sends the cold air up so it falls down. This can be increadibly soothing even while waiting for the room to finish cooling. I have not had to empty any water out yet but I have purposefully not used the dry setting as the manual says it takes the humidity out.... so it's removing some of the water. I really like it sending the cold air up. I can be anywhere in my room and I'm getting the same nice cool air coming down. You don't have to sit in front of it and have it blast air around you just to cool down. I'll be looking at another one of these for my upstairs come summer.

Great unit, could use some refining

I bought this unit a month ago, and had no problems with delivery. I haven™™t used it on any days yet that are above 90 F, so the true test will come. I live in a 580 sf casita with 9™™ ceilings in the high desert mountains of Santa Fe, NM. its an open floor plan, so finding a unit to cover that amount of space and didn™™t require a dedicated 220 line was a challenge. This unit does a good job at cooling the space down, although the remote has never worked ( I replaced the battery - still nothing) and I have to use the buttons on the unit or the app. Overall I am pleased with the purchase but I will reach out to customer service to obtain a working remote.

I bought this unit and was super excited to try it out. I purchased it for the awesome wifi features and elegant look. Unfortunately This unit did not cool down my room which is 475 sq feet. Which i was really confused about since it advertises to be able to cool up to 550 sq ft. It was way cooler outside and i could cool down my room faster with a fan. I also set up a schedule and it didn't turn on when it was supposed to but would automatically turn on at 5am for some reason. The schedule options aren't very broad you cant schedule per day only weekdays or weekends. It is also very large and heavy. It also cost me 180 to ship back as a return so just an fyi

Seems Promising, Some Minor Drawbacks

Setup for this was easy enough and so far it works well. We have some concerns about condensation or drainage given the confusing instructions in the manual and even more concerning reviews on Amazon about having to elevate the unit and drain into a bucket. The manual just isn't clear enough, so we hope that we don't encounter issues once the humidity increases in our space. It seems to cool quickly and effectively, thought he temperature is off a couple degrees. Remote and app both work well. A little hot air is leaked through the output tube where it meets the window so we'll be monitoring that. We're happy with the purchase but just a little wary given how many problems others cited.

1 bought this unit for my bedroom so I didn™™t have to run my home a/c all night just to cool my bedroom since I like to sleep in the cold. It™™s super quiet hand cools my room very quickly. I also like that it™™s WiFi and programable.
